Drifters

Despite its uncanny resemblance to another male physiological component the 'drifters' as jellyfish are commonly known are some of the most alluring yet deadly (for some) organisms alive. The above picture encapsulates a what-I-did-over-the-long-weekend post that I had originally planned.

Suffice to say, I spent part of the weekend at Monterey Bay aquarium, (Drat! I would have liked to say took these photographs in the wild). With our departure from the bay area looming before us, we are trying to cram as many of our favorite places we can, in the time remaining. So last weekend was spent at Monterey on the beach and aquarium, and we are hoping to spend the next weekend at Big Sur.
